Like it happens in most of the what they call ‘Love Jihad’ cases, a Hindu girl Trusha Pankajbhai Patel in her 20s who eloped with a Muslim bootlegger of age 43 says she has married the Muslim man Masum Kalu Mahida, a month ago as per her wish and she wants to stay with him. Patel girl(21), student of Physiotherapy has issued this statement in video and circulated it through WhatsApp. Entire Nadiad town observed bandh yesterday protesting ‘Love Jihad’ tactics. Local BJP leader Asmakhan Pathan criticized Masum Kalu Mahida for fleeing with a girl, half of his age even when he has two wives. As per Indian laws implemented by late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Hindu man can have only one wife but Muslim male can keep four wives. As per Indian law a girl above 18 years of age can wed a boy of her choice, and approval of parents or anyone else is not mandatory. The girl starts video by saying ‘Jay Maharaj’ and continues that she had married Masum Mahida one month ago. When she told this to her mother she was locked inside the home. On 11th of June when there was noone inside her home, she fled and called Masum. The girl in this video clip went on to say that when her husband was ready to leave his home for her, she was also ready to die for him. She said, the issue being raised for last three days was improper. She said her husband has been defamed wrongly. She said, we want justice and politics or faith should not obstruct us. Local believe that this video could be filmed under pressure too. authenticity of this video needs to be checked.
