IAF chopper, ground teams rescue over 20 from a bus submerged in flood water

Indian Air Force(IAF) helicopter and ground rescue teams today afternoon rescued 22 persons who were standing atop submerged bus on Shankheshwar-Panchasar highway near Viramgam. The bus was stuck in flood water of river Rupen. IAF couldn’t start airlift operation in early hours as weather was not favorable. The operation therefore could take place only in the afternoon. While some passengers were rescued by chopper, others were rescued with the help of ropes by ground teams including the team from Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Service.
