Gandhinagar: Congress MLA from Amreli Paresh Dhanani was today once again suspended from Gujarat assembly for the rest of the ongoing budget session.
Speaker Raman Vora suspended Dhanani for allegedly using indecent and un-parliamentary language during the question hour when he raised a question about education in the state.
Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma put forth a proposal for the suspension of the Congress MLA which was accepted. The budget session which was started on February 20 would conclude on March 31.
Speaking on this, minister of state for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja said, “usually 5-minute time is allotted to MLA to speak on an issue. Here in this case he was allocated 12-minute but he was not listening to Speaker’s repeated request to end his question. Therefore action was proposed against him by minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. Not a single Congress MLA stood up in protest when decision to suspend him for entire session was announced by Speaker.”
Earlier on February 23, two days after the presentation of budget, Paresh Dhanani and another Congress MLA Baldevji Thakor were suspended for the rest of the budget session for violent behaviour in which several members including a woman minister were injured.
Their suspension was revoked on March 9.
