Rain/thudershowers in Surat, Valsad, Navsari and other place, temperatures also see slight rise

Ahmedabad: On a day when South Western Monsoon made its entry in Kerala, Light pre-monsoon rain and thundershowers were witnessed in some parts of Gujarat including Southern districts of Surat, Valsad and Navsari today even as temperatures at some places saw slight increase as compared to yesterday despite continuing high humidity.
Seven places in the state saw over 40°C temperatures today compared to only two such places yesterday.
Surendranagar with 43°C remained hottest place today. Rajkot with 41.8°C was second hottest place.
With partially cloudy sky, mostly during the morning, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 41°C which was though over a degree higher than that of yesterday was still 0.7°C lower than normal. The city saw relative humidity between 40 to 68% today.
Meanwhile various parts of Surat, Valsad, Navsari, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar and other districts today saw light rain or thundershowers as predicted by the met center.
The met has predicted continued spell of pre-monsoon showers( light to moderate rain) or thundershowers at a few places in the state in the coming days as well.
