Saputara, Ambaji, Vadodara, Bharuch witness pre monsoon showers, humid hot weather continues

Ahmedabad: Some places including the famous hilly tourist destination of Saputara and temple town of Ambaji, city of Vadodara and Bharuch witnessed pre-monsoon rain and thundershowers today even as the met has predicted more spells of such rain at isolated places in the state in next three days after which the weather is likely to become dry again.

Saputara, Ahwa, Waghai and some other places in Dangs district of South Gujarat, Netrang and adjoining areas in Bharuch and temple town of Ambaji in Banaskantha district saw light to moderate rain.

Meanwhile the weather in general across the state remained humid owing to Southwesterly wind bringing moisture from the sea. Humidity levels in coastal areas were much higher while inland areas also witnessed up to 70% of relative humidity which at times caused uneasiness mostly ‘indoors’.

Surendranagar remained hottest with maximum temperature of 43°C while Rajkot at 42.3°C was second hottest today. In all eight places including Ahmedabad (40.1°C) saw above 40 temperatures.

The met department has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region, Saurashtra and in
Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli for tomorrow and the same for Saurshtra region and Diu for the next two days after tomorrow.
