Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani performed ‘shastra puja’ on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami along with 150 security staff and commandos at his residence here today in presence of Mrs. Anjaliben Rupani and others. He extended Vijaya Dashami greetings to the security staff.

Elucidating the significance of shastra puja for safety and security of the people, he said the puja is part of long tradition to celebrate victory of truth over untruth, victory of dharma over adharma and to establish rule of justice over injustice.

Mr. Rupani said there has been victory of divine forces over demon since ages, from the times of Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is in continuation of the same righteousness that we overcome obstacles and challenges coming in the way of national and social security, for progress and prosperity.

He exhorted the security staff to be ever ready, armed with preparedness, laced with technological advances, to defeat anti-national forces. He made a special reference to the role of security men in maintaining law-and-order in Gujarat to ensure its development.
