November 26, 2017
Mahesana: Deputy Chief Minister and Mahesana assembly seat candidate of BJP Nitin Patel today said his rival Congress candidate Jivabhai Patel had recently proposed him to join BJP.
Nitin Patel said, ‘six months ago, Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Jivabhai Patel came to my office and told me that he wanted to join BJP. Jivabhai said he had to collect crores of Rupees from a senior Congress leader. Until the amount was collected, he would not be able to join BJP. Jivabhai had said he was fed up with infighting and factionalism in Congress.’
Nitinbhai said Congress workers need to know that a person who wanted to join BJP a few months ago is their candidate.
When asked to react, Jivabhai refuted Nitinbhai’s claims. He said he had visited Nitinbhai as part of social relations.
