October 22, 2018
Bharuch: Tribal leader, Congress ally and BTP MLA deemed close to Congress leader Ahmed Patel, Chhotu Vasava today also came openly against the statue of unity project in Narmada district of central Gujarat.
He said that the project would bring industries and mall and hotels etc in the area which would bring doom for tribals who prefer to live closer to nature.
Talking to newsmen Vasava, who was earlier the state president of JD-U in Gujarat and floated a new party Bhartiya tribal party before assembly election last year, said that Sardar Patel was a revered leader of all but his statue should have been made in Delhi.
‘Why 182 meters, it should have been 500 meters tall and should have been aptly in Delhi,’ he said.
He claimed that the tribal people in the area were opposing the project and definitely not burn their stoves on the day of inauguration and keep fast.
Notably, the state government has rejected such oppose as the act of politically motivated people and separatist elements.
Earlier another selfstyle so-called tribal leader Praful Vasava had openly opposed the project.
