4 booked for murder of VHP leader in Mahuva of Gujarat, Bandh called in town

Bhavnagar: 4 persons have been booked for the murder of a local leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Mahuva town of Bhavnagar in Gujarat even as a bandh has also been called in amid tension in the town today to protest against the incident.
Jayesh Gujariya (23), the head of Mahuva taluka VHP unit, was stabbed to death in Gandhibagh area of the town last night. Another person, his aide, Mahesh was injured and has been referred to Bhavnagar for treatment.
In-charge PI B P Chaudhari today said that a total of four persons including 3 named persons Aslam Pe, Imran and Bapudi Miya have been booked in this connetion. However no arrest have been made so far.
He said that prima facie it seemed that the murder was result of a dispute and fight during last Navratri between two groups.
The deceased Jayesh was also of criminal background.
Meanwhile extra police deployment including that of SRP has been made in the town in the wake of the bandh called by VHP and supported by other Hindu outfits.
Notably, after the incident some of the lorries were and road-side shop cabins were damaged by crowd.
