AAP Gujarat leader Mahesh Savani posted Pakistan’s photo to show Gujarat in poor light, receives flak

Gandhinagar: Surat based Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Mahesh Savani, a businessman turned politician who was recently inducted to party by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is receiving lot of flak for misrepresenting a photo from Pakistan as that of Gujarat and spread lie about power situation in Gujarat post May cyclone.

Savani posted a photograph of power line that is supported on tree instead of poles and claimed that even after two months of cyclone in Gujarat, no arrangement of power supply has been made and therefore the people have become self-dependent and made arrangement of poles which shows Gujarat model and Digital India.

The photograph Savani has posted actually doesn’t belong to Gujarat. It is actually from Pakistan. One Khalid Mahmood Khalid had on his twitter handle posted this photograph with Urdu caption, translation of which say: The Sindh government introduced cheap electricity poles with ancient technology.
Note: There is no risk of electric shock from this pole

Pointing this out, a twitter handle of CA Hari Arora stated: It seems the basic criteria for becoming a member of Aam Admi Party is the ability to blatantly lie, misrepresent facts, make fake promises, spit venom and run

The tweet of Arora has been retweeted by BJP MLA Harsh Sanghavi.

Meanwhile Savani has removed the post from his Facebook account. It’s worth noting that two other AAP leaders, Gopal Italiya and Isudan Gadhavi had to deactivate and restricted their personal Facebook accounts recently as the people had started digging into their past posts and sharing them in attempt to expose.
