Testing of Modkuba canal in Kutch likely to complete in June this year

Bhuj: The testing of the Modkuba canal in Kutch is likely to end till June 2022.
The work of Kutch branch canal passing from Rapar, Bhachau, Anjar, Gandhidham, Mundra and Modkuba in Mandvi was on halt due to the issue of redemption for land acquisition in Mundra, Mandvi and Gandhidham. However, the government resolved the issues of land acquisition following which the work resumed. The work of the main canal till Modkuba of around 50 cusecs flow capacity is completed and only the testing work is pending.
The actions of releasing water in the Kutch branch canal for filling the Tappar dam have started. The testing of the canal will be done after filling of Tappar dam. The testing till Shinay and Gundala in Mundra taluka is completed. The testing for 357-kms is likely to be completed till the first week of June. The testing of the pumps in PS 3 at Bhachau for supplying water till 357 kms is also completed successfully. DeshGujarat
