Rajkot: A 9-month old child died after a dog attacked him in Thebchada village in Rajkot.

The 9-month old child of a farmworker Parasbhai Vinubhai Pasaya, working and living at the farm of Laxmanbhai, was attacked by a dog.

The dog attacked the child in the morning on 8th June when his father was working in the farm. The child was asleep in a cradle at that time. The dog was rabid and it bit the child.

Meanwhile, the rabid dog also bit the child’s father when he came to rescue him. The child and his father were taken to a hospital through 108 ambulance service. However, the child couldn’t survive and died at the hospital.

Due to a ban imposed by the Supreme Court on capturing of stray dogs nationwide, the menace of stray dogs has increased across the country manifolds in past few years.
