AUDA to develop Gadhiya Lake in Sanand

Sanand: Gadhiya Lake, which adjoins the main road of Sanand town will now be Developed by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) at the cost of Rs. 10 Crore.
The natural water body near Sanand municipality is 16 km from Prahladnagar. A total of over 53000 meters of land will be developed for this lake.
AUDA CEO Devang Desai said the feasibility study for the project will take a month to complete, which means the tender process will begin after Diwali.
In the first phase of development works the lake will get a facelift and later jogging tracks, an amusement park, landscaping, and shaded sitting arrangements will be made. It will be the only lake in the region to have these facilities similar to Vastarpur lake.
The official explained that AUDA wants to ensure that the ecosystem of the natural water body and the surrounding areas is not disturbed, and that rainwater flows naturally into the lake.
Additionally, the Civic body will have to remove illegal sewage connections to the lake, as well as deal with encroachments on the surrounding land around Gadhiya Lake.
