SUMUL makes change in its name, adds Tapi

Surat: South Gujarat’s major SUMUL dairy has made a change in its name. The dairy has added the Tapi district to its name. The dairy will now onwards be known as Surat – Tapi district cooperative milk producing federation ( Surat – Tapi Jilla Sahkari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd). According to SUMUL president Mansinh Patel, the dairy was established in the year 1951 and it has received a good contribution of milk from Nizar, Kukarmunda to Surat. The name has therefore changed and mention of Tapi has been made. Out of 2.50 members, 1,17,000 are from Tapi district and get Rs. 3 crore income daily by contributing 6 lakh liter milk. Patel said in the last two and half years, daily milk production has increased by 29.87 percent, sell has increased by 32.32 percent, sell outside Gujarat have gone up by 25.96 percent. DeshGujarat
