Anand RAC Ketki Vyas suspended in district collector honey trap case

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government suspended Ketki Vyas (KV Vyas), the Resident Additional Collector (RAC) of Anand district, on Wednesday. She is currently in custody due to her alleged involvement in orchestrating a scheme and installing a hidden camera in the office of the suspended Anand Collector, D S Gadhvi.

Vyas was detained on August 19 and remained in police custody until August 22, and is place under judicial custody. Since her period of detention exceeded 48 hours, she was automatically placed under deemed suspension,the order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) said.

Collaborating with Jayesh Kumar Patel, a chitnis in the collector’s office, and another individual named Harish Chavda, Ketki Vyas discreetly planted hidden cameras in the former Anand collector D S Gadhvi’s office. Later, the accused allegedly sent a woman to the collector’s office and recorded a video of the former collector with her, reportedly for blackmail purposes. The trio also faces additional charges related to pressuring the collector to approve a file concerning a disputed piece of land.

The suspension order requires Vyas to provide a monthly affirmation during her suspension period, confirming that she has not taken up employment with a private organization.

Following the circulation of a viral video clip featuring the former Anand Collector, the state government established a five-member committee to investigate the case and compile a report.
