Gandhinagar to host G20 Chief Scientific Advisers’ Roundtable during August 27-29

Gandhinagar: The second Meeting of the G20-Chief Scientific Advisers’ Roundtable (CSAR) will be held from the 27th to the 29th of August with three bilateral meetings here in the state capital.

On 27th August, Sunday, there will be three Bilateral Meetings with officials from Saudi Arabia, Australia, and the UK at Hotel Leela, Gandhinagar. The 4th Intersessional Meeting will be held from 02:15 PM – 02:45 PM at the Boardroom of Mahatma Mandir Convention Center (MMCC). Following the meetings, the delegates will visit the Modhera Sun Temple to experience the rich heritage of the state.

On 28th August will begin with a meeting on ‘One Health’ to be held at Hotel Leela, Gandhinagar. This will be followed by the Official G20-CSAR proceedings to be held at the Boardroom of Mahatma Mandir Convention Center.

The welcome address will be presented by Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary – Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development. Ajay K Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India will also address the meeting. This will be followed by the first session of the CSAR meeting titled ‘Opportunities in One Health, for Better Disease Control and Pandemic Preparedness’.

The 2nd session will be on ‘Synergizing Global Efforts to Expand the Access to Scholarly Scientific Knowledge’.

The 3rd session will be held post-lunch. This session is on ‘Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in Science & Technology (S&T)’.

The 4th session will be on ‘An Institutional Mechanism for Inclusive, Continuous and Action- Oriented Global S&T Policy Dialogue’. On the same day, a Quad AI Engage Meeting will be held at the Conference Room, MMCC.

A Press Conference will be held for the media from 6.00 PM to 6.45 PM at Seminar Hall 3, MMCC. The delegates will then leave for a visit to the iconic Dandi Kutir.

The highlight of the concluding day of CSAR meeting on 29th August is a Heritage Walk organised for the delegates in the morning hours. DeshGujarat
