Nexgen Energia to invest Rs. 3,000 crore in a CBG plant and EV project

Gandhinagar: Clean fuel energy company, Nexgen Energia on Wednesday announced that it is planning to allocate around Rs 3,000 crore for the establishment of a compressed biogas (CBG) facility in Gujarat.

Following the launch of the CBG plant, Nexgen Energia intends to supply compressed biogas directly to CNG pumps. MD Piyush Dwivedi highlighted that Nexgen Energia is set to invest over Rs 3,000 crore to establish a CNG Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Gujarat. Additionally, the company plans to establish EV units and related infrastructure in the state. We have presented a proposal to the Gujarat government, and we will soon finalize an MoU for this initiative, he added.

He explained that organic fertilizer produced during the CBG plant’s process, which involves converting stubble and waste into CNG, will be provided to the farmers from whom the stubble is sourced. The agreed investment for both projects (CBG and EV) is Rs 3,000 crore. Once the CBG plant is operational, the company will commence direct CNG supply to pumps.
