Surat: The Varachha Zone-B food department in Surat received a complaint that red pears turned green after being washed. Hiren Gajera from Kathodara reported the issue upon noticing the colour change in the pears.
Gajera had bought the pears from near Navjeevan Hotel in Sarthana. The food inspector visited the location to inspect the quality of the stock, particularly focusing on the affected pears.
The officials collected samples of the pears and sent them to the municipal lab in Vesu for analysis. The lab is expected to provide the results within two days. Based on the findings, appropriate actions will be taken according to potential adulteration or inferior quality of the pears. DeshGujarat
