IMD forecasts light rain in Gujarat for next 2 days; Heavy rains to return on August 8

Ahmedabad: After experiencing heavy downpours in several areas for many days, the state of Gujarat is expected to see less rain over the next two days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated in its latest forecast that light to moderate rain is likely in all districts of Gujarat today and tomorrow. However, heavy rain might return on August 8 in some districts, but for most of the state, only light showers are predicted for the week until August 11, Sunday.

According to the latest IMD bulletin:

On August 6: Light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 30-40 kmph (in gusts), accompanied by light to moderate rain, are very likely at isolated places across all districts of the Gujarat region, including Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Similar conditions are expected in all districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, including Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and in Diu.
