IMD forecasts heavy rains in parts of Gujarat till August 27; Orange alert from 24-26

Gandhinagar: After a dry spell last week, rainfall activity has picked up in the state of Gujarat over the last two days as the monsoon became active again. Vapi, Dangs, Navsari, Surat, and some other places witnessed heavy rain on Tuesday. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation lies over the northeast Arabian Sea, adjoining Gujarat, between 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, leading to an expected increase in rainfall activity across the state.
The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest bulletin, has predicted heavy rains in some parts of Gujarat over the next seven days, until August 27th. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for some areas from August 24th to 26th, as very heavy rain is likely to occur in these regions. The rest of the state is likely to receive light to moderate rain from August 21st to 27th.

On August 21st, i.e., today, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath, and in Diu, in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
On August 22nd, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
On August 23rd, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Narmada, Bharuch, Valsad, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
On August 24th, very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the South Gujarat region, namely Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The IMD has issued an orange alert for these places.
Meanwhile, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, and Tapi.
On August 25th, very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the South Gujarat region, namely Dahod and Mahisagar, with orange alart in place in these districts. Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Aravalli, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli.
On August 26th, Very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the South Gujarat region, namely Vadodara and Bharuch and only these two distrairs are on orange alert.
Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Surendranagar, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Tapi, Valsad, Bharuch, and in Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
On August 27th: Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the district of Saurashtra, namely Porbandar, Amreli, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Kachchh, and in Diu, in the districts of the South Gujarat region, namely Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli. DeshGujarat
