Orange alerts in 3 districts of Gujarat for next 48 hrs; IMD forecasts heavy rains till Sept 8

Mahisagar: The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has issued an orange alert for Dahod and Mahisagar for today, and then on Saturday, i.e., September 7th, Aravalli and Mahisagar are on orange alert as heavy to very heavy rain is predicted in these areas.

The latest forecast by the IMD states that the monsoon was vigorous over the Gujarat region, active over Saurashtra-Kutch, and a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Rajasthan and its neighborhood, extending up to 5.8 km and tilting southwestward with height above mean sea level.

As per the IMD bulletin, heavy to very heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the North Gujarat region, namely Dahod and Mahisagar, during the next 24 hours. However, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar may also receive heavy rains.

On September 7th, Aravalli and Mahisagar are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains, while Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Bhavnagar may only receive heavy rains.

On September 8th, heavy rains are likely in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Chhota Udepur.

From September 9th to 12th, there is no heavy rain warning, but light to moderate rains are likely in all regions of Gujarat during this period. DeshGujarat
