108 ambulance rescues infant girl from dumpster in Naroda

Ahmedabad: A passerby found a newborn baby girl abandoned in a garbage bin in the Naroda area on Saturday, after which she was rescued by the 108 emergency response ambulance.

Manisha Makwana, an emergency medical technician at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, received an urgent call about the abandoned baby near the Naroda bus stand. The 108 ambulance arrived at the scene within five to six minutes. Upon arrival, the crew found a one-day-old girl with bruises on her face. They provided immediate treatment, administered oxygen, and transported the infant to the 1200-bed hospital.

The baby was found crying in the garbage bin, and a local resident, upon hearing her cries, rescued her and quickly called the 108 ambulance service. The child was then transferred to Asarwa Civil Hospital for further treatment. It is reported that the baby girl is now stable after receiving essential medical care. Authorities have registered a case against an unknown individual for abandoning the infant, and police are working to identify the perpetrator. The investigation is ongoing.

According to an official, “The girl may have been attacked by stray dogs, as there were scratch marks on her body. She received initial treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital, where she was given oxygen.” DeshGujarat
