Complaints against mobs after attack on Hindu youths and their car in Mahudha

Ahmedabad: Two separate complaints are filed against mobs of Muslims in Kheda district over an attack on the Hindu complainant and his friends and the snatching of a mobile phone from an Eco car driver. The incident happened late in the last evening on the highway.

Chauhan, one of the victims, said he was accompanying his friend who wanted to file a complaint in a police station against a social media post. ‘A complaint was filed in Mahudha police station, and a large mob gathered outside the police station meanwhile. The policemen asked us to continue to be inside the police station for our safety. After some half an hour as the mob didn’t leave the place, we left the place in two cars. I was in my Wagon R car and on the front side while Police Inspector’s car was following my car. A person who filed a complaint was in Police vehicle along with his friend. Around 2,000 strong mob tried to snatch the complainant out of the vehicle but remained unsuccessful. Later my Wagon R car went to the bus-stand area where again a mob started attack with stones and other things. I left my car and sat in police vehicle to leave the place in order to save my life. ‘

Hindu youths had reached police station to file a complaint over some objectionable remarks on Instagram by two Muslim youths that could hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and create communal tension.

Regarding yesterday’s attack, a police complaint mentions names of 37 accused and a mob of 100 persons.  Another complaint has been filed against a mob for snatching away a mobile phone of an Eco car driver who was going to Kapadvanj from Nadiad. When an Eco car driver was passing through the road, his mobile phone was snatched by the mob and he was asked why he was capturing them in mobile phone video.  DeshGujarat
