Mehsana couple held at Delhi Airport for tampering with passports

Ahmedabad: A couple from Gozaria village was apprehended recently at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi for possessing tampered passports.
Ashish Patel and his wife, Heena Patel, from Jotana, arrive at IGI Airport after flying from Kathmandu, Nepal. During immigration clearance, officials find that pages 4, 6, and 8 of both passports are torn, indicating an attempt to remove visa entries. The couple allegedly tore pages from their passports on the instructions of their travel agent.
Following this, the IGI Airport police register a case of cheating against Ashish and Heena under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Passport Act, launching an investigation. DeshGujarat
