Surat: The local police arrested a Chia gang member who was terrorizing people in Limbayat by brandishing a sword openly. The police arrested him based on a viral video and publicly paraded him through the area with his head shaved and hands folded.

The Chia gang members have been terrorizing Limbayat’s Azadnagar area, with no one daring to speak against them. On the day of Ganesh Visarjan, these Chia gang members sat outside a house and started talking loudly and shouting. A young man asked them to keep their volume down and not swear. Enraged by this, the Chia Gang members beat the young man and created an atmosphere of fear by brandishing the sword openly. All this was recorded on CCTV.

The video of these five or six Chia gang members terrorizing the area soon went viral on social media. Acting on the video, the Limbayat police arrested Samir alias Getty, a key member of the Chia gang. The police are also searching for other accused, Wajid alias Chiya, Altaf, and two others.
