3 held in Patan for smuggling red sandalwood worth over ₹2.5 crore from Andhra

Patan: Three people have been arrested in Patan for smuggling red sandalwood worth over ₹2.5 crore. The accused had smuggled around 150 logs of red sandalwood after stealing it from Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh police reached Gujarat today after receiving a tip-off that the smuggled sandalwood was kept near Hajipur in Patan. Later, in a joint operation, the Local Crime Branch and Andhra Pradesh Police seized around 2.5 tonnes of red sandalwood worth over ₹2.5 crore from a godown near Hansapur village in Patan and nabbed three accused identified as Uttam Kumar, Hansraj, and Aadesh.
The authorities are interrogating the accused, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
