BJP MP from Mumbai Shri Kirit Somaiya today while speaking in Lok Sabha questioned why Congress leaders made terrorist Ishrat Jahan a martyr.

Somaiya said: for last few days various reports are published in connection with the Ishrat Jahan case. When I raised this issue in the past, the Home Minister had said that committee will be formed and report will be submitted by it on four missing papers. Recently some channels reported that then Home Minister Chidambaram had authenticated first affidavit in which Ishrat Jahan was called terror operative. File noting suggesting same has been found. Chidambaram’s approval to it has also been discovered. On one hand Ishrat was called terrorist and on the other hand Congress leaders for six years called her martyr. My question is who made terrorist Ishrat Jahan a martyr. Why home ministers(in Congress led UPA-2 government) wanted to hide the fact?”
