It is govt’s positive approach due to which Hardik has got bail: Rupani
July 08, 2016
Rajkot: Reacting to latest development in which bail has been granted to quota agitation leader Hardik Patel, Gujarat BJP president Shri Vijay Rupani when asked by media replied that it was Gujarat government’s positive approach due to which Hardik has got bail. Rupani said Hardik has got bail because government didn’t take objection to it. If Government had still objected his bail, he could not get bail. Rupani clarified that Gujarat government’s approach is positive for bail to quota agitators, but final decision has to be taken by court. He said government has made representations in court to ensure release of quota agitators one-by-one. He said it is government’s wish that gradually all those in jail for quota agitation are released. BJP and government are taking steps in this direction. He said Hardik was the last one in jail in connection with quota agitation and after his release none associated with this agitation will remain left in prison.
It should be mentioned that Hardik Patel has been granted bail by Gujarat High Court in two sedition cases after 8.5 month long imprisonment. Hardik could get bail after he proposed before the court that he would stay outside Gujarat for six months if granted bail. Hardik will still need to get bail in Visnagar case, hearing for which will take place on 11 July. If granted bail in this case, he will be out of jail and will need to leave Gujarat for six month as per his own proposal to which court has agreed.
