Partial impact of Gujarat bandh in some pockets, mainly in Saurashtra

Ahmedabad: There has been partial response to the Bandh call given by Dalit Panther and other organizations in some pockets of Gujarat, mainly in Saurashtra region, but that too not at all places of Saurashtra. So far Dhoraji, Gondal, parts of Jamnagar, Surendranagar and Junagadh districts are witnessing partial impact of bandh. At other places like Ahemdabad East some groups of Dalit organizations tried to ensure bandh in local municipal and private schools. Barring some attempts of causing damage to state govt run buses and enforcing bandh, Gujarat is overall peaceful. Worst hit is most vulnerable state transport bus operations. Dalit organizations have given bandh call protesting against atrocity against Chamar community youths in small Mota Samadhiyala village of Una taluka in southern Saurashtra. Chamar youths were shamefully beaten up by so called local workers of Shiv Sena as they thought Chamar youths are into killing of living cows, while Chamar youths claimed they were skinning dead cow. Brutal thrashing of youths by self-stlye cow protectors went viral and therefore, a week after the incident violence was spread mainly in parts of Saurashtra region.
