Modasa town to observe bandh tomorrow

Ahmedabad: Dalit mobs were on rampage in parts of Gujarat today to enforce bandh in major markets. At several places, Dalit mobs were seen indulging in violence. Worst was the incident in Modasa town of north Gujarat where Dalit activists started beating up traders with stick in order to enforce strike. Local market association has given strike call against attack on three shop-keepers by Dalit activists tomorrow. It should be mentioned that video footage of Dalit activists thrashing shop keepers was viral locally and on TV. Mobs also pelted stones over commercial center in Patan in north Gujarat and Bhavnagar in Saurashtra. Meanwhile a policeman killed by violant Dalit mobs yesterday in Amreli town was cremated today. He was given guard of honor by state police. In Mahesana, mobs pelted stones over municipality office building. Dozens of buses of Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service(AMTS) and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) are damaged during the Dalit agitation, exact figure of which will be out tomorrow.
