In entire Una atrocity row, only one person who lost his life was Pankaj Amrelia, a very lively, friendly, helpful and kind person of Amreli police who was also a father, a son and a husband. Pankajbhai and therefore a husband, a father of two, a son of old mother died while on duty to control the mobs or say the madness that Gujarat witnesses often these days. Patel mobs, Dalit mobs, Hindu mobs, Muslim mobs, where will this mindless mobocracy will take Gujarat?  Has burning of buses, damage to public property, angry reactions, viciousness and hatred become our culture, our routine, our regular practice in recent times? Patel agitation took toll of over 10 lives, Dalit agitation killed Pankajbhai! Shall we as Gujarat continue this madness?

Amreli: Minister of State, Government of Gujarat Shri Rajnibhai Patel and Minister of State Shri Jayantibhai Kavadia who is in-charge of Amreli district today visited house of late Pankaj Amrelia, locally very popular head constable in Amreli who died on duty during Dalit agitation due to head injury.

The minister handed over a cheque of Rs 1.31 lakh to widow of martyred cop Smt Rupaben Amreliya.

Late cop’s mother shared details of shining career of Pankajbhai and conveyed that Pankajbhai was sole earner for family. She expressed worries about future of the family. Late Pankjbhai’s daugther Muskan studies in 12th Science while son Raj is in 8th standard. The ministers joined by local BJP leader Shri Dilipbhai Sanghani assured the family about financial assistance for study.

Former district panchayat president Sharadbhai Lakhani, local leader Ashwinbhai Savalia, Dhirubhai Vala, collector Dilipkumar Rana, DDO Sujitkumar, DSP Jagdish Patel, Additional District Magistrate JK Thesia, officers and staff of Amreli police were among those present here during this visit.
