Siwan: A complaint has been lodged against ruling JD(U) MLA Shyam Bahadur Singh for allegedly demanding Rs 20 lakh from two doctors for allowing them to erect boundary wall on a plot here.
Pachrukhi SHO Gaurishanker Baitha said the doctors — Vikram Singh Chauhan and Nawal Kishore Pandey lodged a complaint yesterday in this regard.
The police will lodge an FIR in this connection after completing investigation into the matter, Baitha said.
In their complaint, the doctors alleged the JD(U) legislator and his supporters barged into their clinic yesterday and indulged in beating, besides demanding Rs 20 lakh for us them carry out construction of a boundary wall on a piece of land adjacent to Pachrukhi sugar mill.
Meanwhile, Singh, the MLA from Barhariya constituency of Siwan, termed the allegations as baseless and said it was the local people who were opposing the construction of boundary wall as they did not get adequate compensation for the land.
It was the local people who came to me with the complaint that the two doctors were forcibly carrying out construction work, he said adding he had merely asked the doctors to show them the document of the land in question. PTI
