Ahmedabad: Gujarat today registered a comfortable victory over Jharkhand to become the first team to qualify for the final of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Today’s victory was largely contributed by half-centuries from Chirag Gandhi and Manprit Juneja, followed by a six-wicket haul from Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth innings.

Gujarat will make their first appearance in a Ranji Trophy final since 1950-51. Gujarat will now play the winner of the other semifinal clash between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu in Indore in the final, starting on January 10.

Brief Scores: Gujarat 390 (Priyank Panchal 149, Parthiv Patel 62; Ajay Yadav 3-67, Rahul Shukla 3-71) & 252 (Manpreet Juneja 81, Chirag Gandhi 51; Shahbaz Nadeem 3-69) lead Jharkhand 408 (Ishank Jaggi 129, Ishan Kishan 61; RP Singh 6-90) & 111 (Kaushal Singh 24; Jasprit Bumrah 6-29, RP Singh 3-25) by 123 runs.
