April 07, 2017
Valsad: Sadhu-sants and Hindu organizations are going to hold a rally today in Valsad and submit a memorandum to district collector over the issue of Love Jihad today, said Shivji Maharaj of Bhidbhanjan Mahadev temple in Valsad and Kapil Swami who runs Swaminarayan school at Salvav.
Communal tension prevailed in Valsad city of South Gujarat late night on April 3 when a notorious youth from minority community Salman Kamaluddin Sheikh(19) was found in objectionable position with a minor girl from majority community.
When the brother of the girl was informed that Salman Sheikh had taken her sister in a close-by flat, he rushed there, only to be slapped by Salman. He, somehow took her sister back home. But the matter worsened when Salman and his henchmen went to the girl’s place with hockey-sticks and rods.
They attacked the brother and cousin of the girl and injured them badly. The duo with head injuries have been admitted to a hospital.
As the tension started building-up large number of police personnel were deployed in the area.
Notably in yet another incident in Vyara, the headquarter town of Tapi district, police had nabbed a youth from minority community for harassing and threatening a lady from tribal community. Kalu Ansari was nabbed on April 2 for making repeated indecent and threatening calls to the lady who is a college student.
In a press conference held at Mahadev temple, Shivji Maharaj said, the parents of victim girls had visited him last evening and told that Muslim youth was threatening the girl that her photos would be made public. Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s district organizer Ajitsinh Solanki, Jineshbhai Nahar etc were present in the press conference.
