April 09, 2017
Vadodara: Last December, BJP Lok Sabha MP from Godhra Prabhatsinh Chauhan’s son Pravinsinh joined Congress in presence of State Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki and leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela at Rajput Samaj hall in Godhra during gettogather of Congress party. State Congress president Bharatsinh solanki had announced at that time that Pravinsinh’s wife Sumanben Chauhan who is district panchayat member will also join BJP. He also had claimed that Pravinsinh had joined the party with 1,000 supporters.
Pravinsinh had contested year 2012 assembly election as BJP candidate against Congress candidate C K Raulji but he couldn’t win. BJP had given him ticket though it was publicly known that Pravinsinh was involved in illegal liquor business and he was booked in number of offenses in the past.
Now same Pravinsinh Chauhan has been booked by police for operating cricket satta – betting at his house.
Local Crime Branch of district police nabbed three persons who were operating betting for Bengaluru-Delhi IPL cricket match at Mahelol-Muvadi based Pravinsinh Chauhan’s house near Godhra with 25 mobile phones, one bike, one Activa two-wheeler and laptops. After primary questioning police has found Pravinsinh’s involvement in this case. The location of crime was also Pravinsinh’s house.
It is worth noting here that in 2015, Pravinsinh’s sons Dhaval and Sunil along with Vijay Thakor and Vipul Parmar were held by police in liquor case. Police had raided same village Mahelol and captured 700 boxes of Indian made foreign liquor along with truck, car, jeep and two bikes. During initial probe Pravinsinh’s son were found accused in this case. They were arrested too.
Meanwhile Pravinsinh Chauhan was seen at Gujarat Congress’s Aadivasi Adhikar function on the stage, sitting just behind top leaders of Gujarat Congress. As expected, Pravinsinh told media persons that he was framed because he was in Congress. When asked, Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said the party would not favor criminals.
