Surat: Soon after Prime Minister’s roadshow and his meeting with South Gujarat zone leaders of BJP at Athwalines Circuit house in Surat, the BJP leaders were seen at Sasuma restaurant for Surti dinner. The Chief Minister spoke briefly to media persons just before dinner.

The Chief Minister in reply to various questions asked by media persons said, ‘Election will take place on time. We don’t go to people only ahead of election, we are there among people throughout five years of our tenure for various programmes. It is for the first time after independence that Prime Minister goes to people. We have seen in previous ten years of Congress-led government in Centre when Prime Minister was on one side and people were on other side. There was no connection between two. Today Narendrabhai was in between the people and children, women, senior citizens, Muslims – entire Surat was on roads.’

When asked about PM’s meeting that took place at Circuit house with BJP leaders, Chief Minister said: Wherever Narendrabhai goes, he meets karyakartas.

When asked whether election strategy was discussed in the meeting, Shri Rupani replied, strategy is decided by 5-7 people. It doesn’t take place in quorum larger than that.For last six months I hear it in media that everything is connected to election. The fact is, it is only Congress that comes when elections are there, we are always among people.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, State BJP president, national organizational incharge of BJP Shri V.Satish, MLAs, local MP etc had dinner around midnight at Sasuma restaurant which is located just near Circuit house. BJP leaders had Surti food with common people in this restaurant.
