Court issues summon to metro scam accused Sanjay Gupta in service tax scam

Ahmedabad: A local court today issued summons to former IAS officer and ex-chairman of Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA), Sanjay Gupta and seven others in connection with yet another alleged service tax scam to the tune of Rs. 26.56 crores.
A metropolitan court has asked the 8 accused including Gupta to remain present before it on May 30 in the case filed by Service Tax Commissioner R S Chaudhary.
Gupta and his subordinates were earlier arrested and charged of cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and for siphoning off public money. In the ill famous Metro scam the probe revealed how an amount of Rs211 crore was routed through 36 different companies by raising false invoices to Gupta’s Neesa Group of Companies.
The new case is likely to increase his woes.
