September 26, 2017
Gandhinagar: In a seemingly big gain to ruling BJP, its MLA from Dhari Nalin Kotadiya, who had earlier shown rebellious attitude against its own party and government during Patidar quota stir, today said that he was completely satisfied with the steps taken by the government today to resolve the issues pertaining to Patidar community.
In yet another shot at arm to BJP, one of the most prominent leaders of Umiya Mataji Sansthan, Sidsar and Vice President Jeram Patel who belongs to the same Kadva Patidar community as that of Hardik Patel, said that with the resolution of the issues today the Patidar agitation now ended.
Kotadiya, who was elected on Keshubhai Patel led Gujarat Parivartan Party ticket that later merged with BJP said, ‘So far as the reservation issue was concerned the matter is being taken up in legal and constitutional way separately. The community has also pledged full support to it. I am now with the government and those who are still going to oppose it must go their own way,’ he said.
‘I am happy that the mediation of the issue that I took up around 4 months ago and handed over the demands letter to CM Rupani now stand resolved,’ he told newsmen here.
‘The meeting was held in a very peaceful manner today and the decisions regarding probe panel, setting up of commission for non-reserved category and compensation and jobs to those killed during the quota agitation were quite satisfactory. Reservation issue is being taken up legally separately with the help of the community. Even after this if someone wishes to oppose the government, I will not be with him,’ he said.
