Gujarat govt forms SIT to probe Patan self immolation incident

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today said it has formed a Special Investigation Team(SIT) headed by Inspector General of Police to probe into the self immolation of Dalit activist Bhanubhai Vankar. The SIT will give its report before March 31st this year. The SIT led by IGP Narsimha Komar has former Additional Secretary Kiritbhai Adhvaryu as member and Police superintendent Makrand Chauhan as member secretary. The incident of self immolation took place in collector office of Patan district on February 15. The victim Bhanubhai Vankar died in Apollo hospital in Ahmedabad next day.
