Rahul Gandhi postpones his July 16-17 Saurashtra visit

Gandhinagar: Congress president Rahul Gandhi has postponed his upcoming visit to Saurashtra region of Gujarat which was scheduled to take place on 16-17 July. State Congress president Amit Chavda said Rahul has postponed his Gujarat visit due to heavy rain in Saurashtra region. Chavda added that Rahul’s visit will be arranged in upcoming days depending on situation of rain.
It’s worth noting that Rahul had decided to cut short his two-day visit to one and half day last evening. According to that he was to arrive at Bhavnagar airport on 16 July and hold interaction with farmers at Badi Padva. He was then scheduled to go to Alang ship breaking yard site and hold interaction with laborers and businessmen. He was to converse with district and taluka panchayat members and Savarkundla and also with party MLAs. On the second day on July 17, he was to going to visit Ambardi park in Amreli district for lion safari and at 2.00 pm he was scheduled to fly to Delhi via Diu.
However, after overnight rains in Saurashtra belt, Rahul Gandhi has decided to postpone his Gujarat visit.
