4.8 magnitude earthquake in Kutch

Bhuj: An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude occurred at India Pakistan border in Kutch at 3.15 pm in the afternoon today.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at 24.35 West latitude and 68.54 North longitude and at 10 km depth in the West. The area of the earthquake was India-Pakistan Border area as per the report of Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar.
The earthquake was felt in the rural areas of the Lakhpat taluka. The villages including Mata Na Madh, Guneri, Gaduli, Dolatpar witnessed the earthquake. It is learnt that the earthquake has caused cracks in the walls in some constructions. The jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) at the army camp on the border also felt the earthquake.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi speaks to Gujarat Chief Minister on the phone to take stock of the situation arising as a result of the earthquake near Dwarka.
The Chief Minister over this phone call conveyed the Prime Minister that there has been no damage to properties or persons due to this light earthquake in any area of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
