Gujarat based EDII declared Centre of Excellence; Opens its Centre in Rwanda

Gandhinagar: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India has recognised Gujarat based Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoE) in the skilling ecosystem. The recognition will be initially valid for five years.
In another important development, EDII has established the Rwanda- India Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Kigali, Rwanda under an agreement with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. It was inaugurated at the hands of Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan on 15th November 2021. It is the sixth international ED centre set up by EDII after centres set up in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
EDII launched the first New Enterprise Creation programme in Kigali on 16th November. This 18-day program is being attended by 30 entrepreneurs. The EDII team in Rwanda is conducting a Business Opportunity Identification Exercise and is developing at least 50 to 70 project profiles suited to local requirements and conditions.
