March 19, 2022
Vadodara: Local member of legislative assembly (MLA) and state Revenue minister Rajendra Trivedi today made announcement that the State government is going to set up the second Science City of Gujarat in Vadodara. Trivedi told this to media persons on the sidelines of the event of Sujalam Sufalam water conservation movement in Waghodia area of Vadodara. Trivedi said, his efforts have achieved success and a decision has been taken to set up Rs. 100 crore Science City in Vadodara.
It’s worth noting that over 100 kms away, the city of Ahmedabad has one of best Science Cities of India. The State government had last month in its annual budget announced plan to set up an Anthropology and Biology Gallery at the Science City in Ahmedabad at the cost of ₹250 crores, for which a provision of ₹ 45 crores has been made for the next year. The State budget also has made provision of ₹25 crores for developing Regional Science Centres in three cities of Surat, Jamnagar and Junagadh and District Science Centres in 25 districts.
Though there’s no provision made in the budget regarding proposed Science City in Vadodara, Trivedi who is not Science & Technology department’s minister has made this announcement today. DeshGujarat
