4 Gujarat pilgrims die in road accident in Rajasthan; PM condoles the deaths

Gandhinagar: 4 pilgrims from Gujarat were dead and over twenty were injured in a road accident in neighboring Rajasthan. The pilgrims were from Kukdi village of Danta taluka in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat.

According to ASP Brijesh Soni, four persons were confirmed dead including 3 youths and one child while 20 were injured. Among those injured, 3 were admitted to Sumerpur hospital, 6 in Bhawan Mahavir hospital while 2 were referred to Pali. Among those dead are Chandubhai(40), Nareshbhai(38), Rajubhai(42) and one 11-year old child.

The victims had boarded a tractor trailer. They were on way to Ramdevra for darshan of Ramdev Pir of Ranuja. The incident happaned on Friday at around 8.30 pm on Shivganj – Sirohi highway(Bypass). The tractor was hit by a truck. Those injured were taken to Shivganj for medical treatment. The district administration in Banaskantha in Gujarat has made arrangements for medical treatment of the injured if they are taken back to Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi in a tweet has condoled the deaths of pilgrims. He tweeted: The accident in Pali, Rajasthan is saddening. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray for a speedy recovery of those injured. DeshGujarat
