Sursagar lake in Vadodara to have boating service again for visitors

Vadodara: The boating service in Sursagar lake of Vadodara city will resume after a gap of 7 years.
The general meeting of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has approved the proposal along with ticket rates on 24th January 2022. The boating ticket rate will be Rs 50 for adults and Rs 25 for children below 12 years of age for 30 minutes boating.
The futuristic planning cell had invited expression of interest (EOI) for starting boating service in Sursagar lake for 7 years. None had expressed interest after three attempts. Two bids were received in the fourth attempt. On 18th July 2022, VMC ordered price bids for revenue sharing and opened them in the presence of Futuristic Planning Cell executive engineer and two bidders. A bidder namely Hydro Drivers & Engineers was prepared to pay 55 percent of the revenue generated from the boating facility to VMC after deducting taxes every month. Another bidder Tristar Enterprise proposed to pay 25.25 percent to the VMC. VMC approved the bid of after finding the revenue sharing reasonable. DeshGujarat
