Surat, 25 January, 2011
A delegation of leading Dawoodi Bohra community members today called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at Surat circuit house and praised the development of the state during his regime.
The Bohras informed Chief Minister Modi that their Syedna Saheb’s 100th birthday is scheduled to be celebrated on 25 March, 2011. Having heard this, the Chief Minister asked Bohras to celebrate the birth day event in Gujarat. He said this is the invitation not only from me, but from five and half crore Gujaratis. Modi said while Gujarat is celebrating golden jubilee of statehood, Syedna Saheb’s 100th birthday celebration will make it even worthy.
“If you celebrate Syedna saheb’s 100th birthday in Gujarat, it would provide opportunity to Bohras settled in all over the world to visit Gujarat. The state will fully support, cooperate and give honor to the celebration in that case,” Modi said.
“I am blessed by limitless love of Syedna saheb, and Gujarat needs his blessings,” Modi added.
