-Ahmedabad’s Dariapur police station Police Inspector Mr. Jani suspended after it was found that he took money from a bootlegger to release him.
-Vasant Utsav will be held at Gandhinagar’s Sanskruti Kunj between 24 February and 3 March.
-Ahmedabad’s Sodagar ni pol building collapse case: One of the main accused Hanif Bata arrested. Earlier Salim Bata and Mehboob Senior were arrested in this case. However one Munaf Bata is still at large. The case is handled by Ahmedabad Police’s Crime Branch.
-Saurashtra University Registrar Gajendra Jani will have to leave his post: the Governor orders.
-BJP workers stop Jammu Tawi Express, Ahmedabad-Haridwar Mail, and three goods trains by about two hours at Palanpur as part of their agitation against railway ministry. Railway Police prevented them to do so, this created confrontation, stones were pelted over police by about five thousand party workers. One Railway police cop was injured. Big number of Railway police cops are deployed there now.
-BJP’s seventh Chintan shibir begins in Shankus water park near Mahesana.
-Unknown people ransacked and demolished a shop in Rajkot that was keeping sex toys and charging Rs. 100 for anyone wanted to see the toys.
-Junagadh’s Bhavnath foothill witnessed complete strike on Thursday against demolition drive. The Sadhus are protesting against biased pattern of demolition that also took mandirs, dhuna, and samadhis in stride.
-Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation couldn’t demolish an illegal building in Muslim dominated Dabgarvad area of wall city due to local protest.
-Chain accident on Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati over bridge. Five cars hit in line.
-Alignment rechecking of Girnar ropeway proposed in a meeting held at Delhi in presence of Gujarat’s officials and central Enviornment minister Jairam Ramesh. It is believed that Ramesh will come to Gujarat on 8th to announce his decision on Girnar ropeway.
-Gandhidham DRI seized 30,000 memory cards hidden in refrigerators and TVs. The seized memory cards are worth Rs. 47 lakh. They entered through a port in Kutch.
-Visnagar bank issue: Builder Ketan Sheth arrested by Ahmedabad Crime Branch.
