Vadodara: The management of Vaishnav Vanik community Trust run Shri Dabhoi Dashalad Jati Samast Dashalad Griha at the Ambali Faliya Canal in Vadodara’s communally sensitive Nagarwada area has created controversy by flouting the Disturbed Area Act provisions and selling the community place building to Muslims for Rs. 2.02 crore.
The local Hindus of Ambali Paliya locality are now looking to Hindu leaders and Hindu organizations for help. The local Hindu women have decided to go to meet the city BJP president Dr. Vijay Shah, who had earlier assured that this property will not be sold to Muslims.
Having a plot size of 431 sq.mtrs, Shri Dabhoi Dashalad Jati Samast Dashalad Griha is located 50 meters from a Hindu Ramji Mandir of Ambali Paliya in communally sensitive Nagarwada area of Vadodara that has witnessed several incident of riots in recent years. Construction of ground plus third floor is 11362.00 sq.ft.
A wadi (a place for community gathering and meal) was built for students coming to study. From time to time the use of this wadi was also rented out for auspicious and inauspicious occasions. This wadi is like a protective wall for more than 500 Hindu families living in Ambali Paliya. Local said, in the year 2021, the attempts were initiated to sell the entire Dashalad property of Sri Dabhoi Dashalad community. When local Hindus came to know about it, they protested and met the Vanik Samaj leader and city BJP president Dr. Vijay Shah. At that time Shah assured that this wadi will not be sold. The property was later publicly auctioned by the Charity Commissioner’s office. In which Feroze Whora and Amin Siddique were the highest bidders. Ferozbhai Bohra with a bid of Rs 2,02,00,000 won the auction. On 17-4-2023 Shri Dabhoi Dashalad Jati Samast Dashalad House Trustee Sameerbhai Ranchodlal Parikh did the procedure of allotment to Bohra.
Women of Ambali Paliya on Sunday gathered and demanded to cancel the document of wadi sold to Muslims, as it was in breach of the desturbed area act. The women said that they have been kept in the dark till the property was sold and said they will fight until this document is revoked. Jinalbehan Patel living in Amli Faliya said the property was a wall protecting 2,000 Hindus from the Muslims in Amli Faliya area. There are temples including Ramji temple in this area. About 2 thousand Hindus live in Amli Faliya. So far BJP leaders have taken votes in the name of Hinduism. Today Hindus here need them. The locals alleged that even the local councilors are not seen then and the Hindu leaders sitting in the top positions are not seen either. Even the leaders of Hindu organizations are not seen.
Protesting local Hindus said that they shall meet BJP leader Dr. Vijay Shah again on Monday as he had assured in the past that this property which is located on the nose of Hindu locality will not be sold to Muslims. The protesting women further stated that they are ready for a legal fight as well in this matter as it is an open violation of the disturbed area act.
Hindu saint Dr. Jyotirnath Maharaj said, if such properties are sold in violation of the Ashant Dhara law, it will be time for Hindus to leave their areas. The system should think seriously about this matter.
The people of Amli Faliya are very angry. Girish Parekh said that with this property going to Muslims, the Hindu area here will be destroyed. It will be difficult for people to stay. How the property was sold overnight despite being in a turbulent state is a subject of investigation. The sale of this property has caused great resentment among the people of Amli Faliya.
