Gandhinagar man booked for viral video with false claims about Amul Milk
July 05, 2023
Gandhinagar: The Adalaj Police have booked a man from Gandhinagar who made a video that went viral on social media, featuring the words “Amul Doodh Pita Hey Uriya” instead of “Amul Doodh Pita Hey India.” Since the video contained baseless information, a case has been registered against him and further investigation is currently underway.
According to the complaint filed by Ankitkumar Satyendrabhai Parikh, a senior manager at Amulfed Dairy in Gandhinagar, Harshadbhai Joshi of Devbhumi Parlor Narol, a retailer of Amulfed Dairy, sent him a video on June 30. The video featured a person providing false information about urea samples found in Amul milk during a test conducted at a government laboratory. The person also raised concerns about the safety of Amul milk for consumers.
Furthermore, the video urged Amul milk consumers to exercise caution. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Laxmikant Parmar (Rest. Plot No. – 995/2, Sector 7/C) posted the video on Facebook with the intention of defaming the reputation of the Amul brand. As a result, Ankitkumar filed a complaint at the Adalaj police station after consulting with his superiors.
It is worth mentioning that a similar incident occurred earlier, in May, where an unknown individual who spoke Hindi created a viral video claiming that Amul Lassi tetra packs contained fungus. A case was also filed at the Adalaj police station regarding that incident, as it was also an attempt to defame the reputation of the Amul brand. DeshGujarat
