Attack on Shravan procession; Stone piles found on Madarsa’s terrace, 11 held

Kheda: Shivji ki savari procession of Hindus on the last day of Shravan in Thasra was attacked on Friday, the police have found several piles of stones on the terrace of a Madarsa from where large sizes of stones were pelted over the procession continuously. 11 people have been nabbed so far in connection with this violence.

During their investigation of the area near Teen Batti, where the stones were thrown at the procession of Lord Shiva (Shivji ki savari), the police found several heaps of stones on the rooftop of the Madarsa from where the stones were pelted.

A total of three FIRs have been filed in this case.  The police have filed cases against 50 unidentified individuals accused of throwing stones at the procession, during which three policemen were also injured. Another complaint is filed by the injured policeman. On the other hand, the Muslims have filed a cross-complaint against 1000 Hindus associated with the procession.

Seventeen accused are identified and booked, and 11 have been held so far. The police’s technical team is currently investigating the CCTV footage and videos.
